DC GUN DEBATE RAGES?? Nope.

A few folks have made a habit out of making every shooting that happens in the District a call to revisit DC gun laws. The funniest incident had to be the DC council member whose intern was busted for shooting up a Metro stop...

The most tragic had to be the shooting outside of the Holocaust Museum. Oddly enough, our great mayor, Mayor Adrian Fenty, brought some reason to the question (no doubt posed by some left-leaning reporter, though that doesn't narrow the field, does it?).

See the mayor's quote:

Fenty was asked if this would have an effect on D.C.’s gun laws: “I think that unfortunately these types of things happen throughout the country and throughout the world.”In closing up the conference, Fenty dubbed this “an extremely isolated incident.”

Score one for common sense. Thanks, Mayor!

  1. Hello,

Now people have a protective order to buy a gun without having to wait 24 or 72 hours. Bills of the criminal justice and public safety committee allows permit holders to carry concealed firearms into the state house complex, make it cheaper to apply for a concealed weapons permit and make the permit valid for a longer period. Thanks a lot.

  2. DC gun law made it illegal to possess a handgun. A person who is convicted of knowingly possessing restricted pistol bullets may not be imprisoned for more than 10 years or fined more than $10,000. A mandatory minimum sentence of one year exists for this offense. Thanks a lot.
